Prepare yourselves for nostalgia overload. The “SNES Classic” hits stores on Friday Sept. 29 for $79.99.
There are 21 games on the console, including Star Fox 2 — which was never released publicly and will appear on a Nintendo console for the first time.
The world went wild when the “NES Classic” was released last year, causing ludicrous shortages that caused it to be perpetually out of stock, before finally being discontinued. The sequel to the console could have this problem even worse, because it’s better in every way and contains some of the greatest games ever made.
Naturally, we need to rank these from best to worst.
- Super Mario World
- The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past
- Super Metroid
- Final Fantasy III
- Super Mario Kart
- Secret of Mana
- Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars
- Mega Man X
- Street Fighter II Turbo
- Super Punch Out
- Super Mario World 2: Yoshi’s Island
- Kirby Super Star
- Contra III
- Castlevania IV
- Donkey Kong Country
- Super Ghouls ’N Ghosts
- Kirby’s Dream Course
- StarFox 2
The games on the SNES Classic are really lacking any sports outside of Super Punch Out and Mario Kart (if you consider Mario Kart a sport).
The biggest reason these games are great are the memories we have with them.
