The 2017 Kentucky Derby will be taking place Saturday at 6:46 p.m. ET and will feature what will likely be a muddy, dramatic race. This year, the race is considered to be pretty wide open as far as potential winners.

Rains on Friday and the chance for some showers on Saturday, along with hotter temperatures should make the track conditions, as well as the betting, all the more interesting as the race gets closer. Favorites like Always Dreaming continue to stay atop the sports books, and others, like Classic Empire, find themselves fading in the betting to begin the day.

Patch, the one-eyed horse whose had his inspiring story told in the days leading up to the race, is down to 14-1 odds. Thunder Snow went from 18-1 to 16-1 in the afternoon. Always Dreaming started at 5-1 in the morning, and got down to 4-1 by the afternoon. Gunnevera went from 15-1 to 9-1 in the afternoon.
