Canelo Alvarez and Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. will fight with primarily pride on the line on Saturday, but the fight has all the allure of a multiple-championship battle. The lineal middleweight title will be on the line, but these two 50-fight veterans have been going at it in the media for months and months, and will finally settle things in the ring on Saturday.

The event will be carried by HBO Boxing and is being put on by Golden Boy Promotions. The pay-per-view main card, featuring four bouts including the Alvarez vs. Chavez main event, will begin at 9 p.m. ET. A live stream will be available online via Golden Boy. A live stream of several preliminary fights will also be carried on HBO’s YouTube page beginning at 7 p.m.

The undercard for Saturday’s main event is stellar, beginning with a showdown between middleweights David Lemieux (37-3) and Marcos Reyes (35-4). If Lemieux, the heavy favorite, wins, then he could take on Alvarez in his next fight. Gennady Golovkin is also in that discussion, so there’s a lot riding on this one.

Lucas Matthysse and Emmanuel Taylor will also face off in a welterweight bout. Matthysse is a fan favorite and hasn’t fought since Oct. 2015, when he lost to Viktor Postol. Taylor is considered a tune-up fight for someone like Matthysse, but anything can happen and he is definitely a game opponent.

The final undercard bout for the pay-per-view is a featherweight showdown between unbeaten fighters in Joseph Diaz Jr. and Manuel “Tino” Avila. Both fighters are looking to get into the featherweight title picture. Diaz is favored and has an Olympic pedigree to him. Avila, though, shouldn’t be counted out and this could easily be a launching point for either fighter.
