Circuit of the Americas announced on Wednesday that Justin Timberlake will be the headline act when the Formula 1 U.S. Grand Prix hits Austin in October.
The 2016 Grand Prix saw 269,000 fans pack Circuit of the Americas with Taylor Swift performing as the headline act along with Usher and The Roots. There currently hasn’t been any announcements of other acts for the 2017 race, but Wednesday night Pharrell posted a photo with Timberlake and Timbaland on Instagram, prompting rumors the trio is working on an album.
Avenue of the Americas chairman Bobby Epstein said the following:
“We’re thrilled to have Justin Timberlake perform at this year’s United States Grand Prix. After five years, the F1 USGP weekend at COTA has evolved into an annual destination where residents and visitors alike can experience a combination of world-class music, entertainment and motorsports. The combination of the incredible entertainment off and on-track with the amazing backdrop of Austin —and everything it has to offer — provides fans with an exhilarating weekend that simply cannot be missed.”
The 2017 race will be the seventh F1 race in Austin since the sport returned to America in 2012.
