The United States needs a win to help its chances of advancing out of the first round of the World Baseball Classic, battling Canada on Sunday evening from Marlins Park in Miami.
The 7 p.m. ET game on Sunday will be televised by MLB Network, with Matt Vasgersian on play-by-play along with analyst John Smoltz, and reporter Jon Morosi. The game will be streamed online by MLB Network, with television provider authentication.
Team USA has had a white-knuckle ride through its first two games of Pool C play. On Friday, the team didn’t get a hit against Jose Quintana until the sixth inning but rallied to beat Colombia 3-2 in 10 innings. On Saturday, the U.S. held a 5-0 lead over the Dominican Republic but saw it evaporate, culminating in a four-run eighth inning that included a decisive three-run home run by Nelson Cruz against Andrew Miller.
Against Canada (0-2), Team USA will turn to Danny Duffy of the Kansas City Royals, trying to advance to the second round for a fourth consecutive WBC. The top two teams from each pool advance out of Pool C.
ESPN Deportes will televise the game in Spanish, a broadcast that will be streamed online via Watch ESPN.
