Gordon Hayward wasn’t physically able to make it to TD Garden on Wednesday, considering the world witnessed him shatter his ankle on opening night on Tuesday against the Cleveland Cavaliers.
He might not have been in the lineup tonight, but that didn’t stop him from making an appearance, releasing a video thanking Celtics fans for their support as he recovers in the hospital.
The video message was played during the team’s home opener against the Milwaukee Bucks:
“What’s up everybody? Just wanted to say thank you to everyone whose had me in their thoughts and prayers,” said Hayward. “I’m going to be alright. It hurt me that I can’t be there for the home opener. I want nothing more than to be with my teammates and walk out on that floor tonight. I’ll be supporting you guys from here. Wishing you the best of luck. Kill it tonight. Thanks guys.”
