Talk about a coincidence. During the New Orleans Saints’ week 1 loss to the Minnesota Vikings on Monday Night Football, Adrian Peterson only touched the ball six times. This prompted fellow former 2000-yard rusher Chris Johnson to take to Twitter and suggest, “AP NEEDS MORE TOUCHES.”

Peterson didn’t get many more touches over the next four weeks. And when he did get touches, he did nothing with them. No longer willing to deal with the headache of trying to figure out how to get AP the ball, the Saints decided to trade him to the Arizona Cardinals on Tuesday—the same Arizona Cardinals team that had already signed Chris Johnson after star running back David Johnson went down with a season-ending injury in week one.
Welp, those Cardinals have since cut CJ2K in order to make room for the newly-acquired Adrian Peterson. Damn.
