Through four weeks of the season, the Los Angeles Chargers have provided their small fan base with zero wins. In return, the fan base has supplied them with little to no fan support.
The more things change, the more they stay the same. The franchise dealt with the same problem back in San Diego where opposing fans regularly took over the stadium. And it’s only got worse since moving to L.A.
After escaping with a 26-24 road victory over the Chargers, nine-time Pro Bowler Jason Peters credited the large amount of Eagles fans in attendance that gave them a boost.
“That’s crazy,” Peters said to Josh Peter of USA TODAY Sports. “I mean, it’s almost like the Chargers got 16 away games. It’s going to be tough sledding for those guys.”
“When we came out, it was like a home game,” he added. “A lot of fans here supporting us, and it helped us.”
Then the Eagles’ official Twitter account added insult to injury with this jab on social media that poked fun at the small crowd:
