There’s a lot of consequential 2018 World Cup qualifying action to be seen on Tuesday, but only one game that features a straight-up contest for a qualifying spot. If Portugal beats Switzerland, it qualifies for the World Cup. If Switzerland wins or draws, it goes through. The team that doesn’t prevail drops into the playoffs.

Switzerland currently has a perfect record in qualifying, having beaten Portugal at home back in September 2016. Cristiano Ronaldo missed that game with an injury, and his country looked lost without its star player. But Ronaldo is back for Tuesday’s return leg, and he’s in spectacular form with 15 goals in the tournament.

Portugal is a bit thin at left back with Raphaël Guerreiro and Fábio Coentrão missing out due to lack of fitness, while midfielder Adrien Silva and winger Nani are also not in this squad. Switzerland has some injuries too, with goalkeeper Roman Bürki and midfielder Valon Behrami unavailable on Tuesday.
